Anyone who follows drummer Brittany Harrell (@brittanyharrell) of Georgia's pop-punk outfit, Veara on Twitter would know that her account is comprised of talk about WWE, music and things 99% food related. With that said, we invited Brittany to be a part of the Alter The Press team where each week, she will be writing a weekly blog talking about the best meals she has consumed and letting the world know about her love of food!
This past Sunday was Mother's Day but was also my cousin Jackson's 10th birthday. So my family got together and decided to make it a joint party and grill out!
We had burgers and hotdogs for the meat. I opted for a burger and then for sides, we had home-made cole slaw, home-made baked beans, and home-made deviled eggs!
Boy was this food good :) I absolutely love grillin out bubba burgers (thats the band name we use) at the house. The burger was seasoned great and very juicy. My mom made the cole slaw and that's always a hit. It's awesome to put on top of a hotdog, or do like me and just eat it as is with a fork! My grandma made the baked beans and they were awesome too. I think the whole bacon pieces that she puts in there while it's cooking is what really sets em' off!
For dessert, we had a birthday cake, some ice cream sandwiches, and some vanilla and strawberry ice cream from "Bruster's Real Ice Cream." I actually didn't have any cake I went straight for the ice cream because i love Bruster's ice cream a lot. I put a huge scoop of vanilla and a huge scoop of strawberry ice cream onto a plate. I devoured both. Both were awesome but the strawberry ice cream was off the chain!! So I went back for even MORE strawberry ice cream, haha. I completely forgot to take a picture of my dessert plates because I think I got lost in a sugar coma, hahaha.
I did manage to get a sweet hardstyle picture with my cousin for his birthday!
