ATP! Presents: Brittany Has An Appetite (June 20th, 2012)
Anyone who follows drummer Brittany Harrell (@brittanyharrell) of Georgia's pop-punk outfit, Veara on Twitter would know that her account is comprised of talk about WWE, music and things 99% food related. With that said, we invited Brittany to be a part of the Alter The Press team where each week, she will be writing a weekly blog talking about the best meals she has consumed and letting the world know about her love of food!
This past Sunday was Fathers Day. So for the occasion my Mom decided to cook a "Thanksgiving" meal. My mom is an excellent cook and she out-did herself on this meal for sure!
We had a deep fried turkey marinated in Buffalo butter. We "deep fried" our turkey in our "Big Easy" cooker that actually is an oil-less cooker. It gives the Turkey the exact same taste as if it was deep fried in oil. It cooks with inferred and is over-all in my opinion way better because the rub you put on it wont fall off!
My mom used the drippings from the turkey to make the gravy. The Buffalo Butter gravy was excellent! I dipped my biscuit and and my turkey meat in it and it was heavenly good!
Next up, my mom prepared cornbread dressing! It consists of cornbread, celery, onions, juice from a turkey baked the night before, and some seasonings that I don't know what they are. She doesn't measure anything so it's all to taste. Her cornbread dressing is the bomb!
My mom also made her "famous" green beans and macaroni and cheese. These are always a hit with my family. In fact, Ive never had better green beans or mac and cheese anywhere else! So good!
Here's a look at my plate. It was LOADED down! I ate every bit :)
For dessert my Aunt Angie made her homemade Banana Pudding!
Man, is this dessert awesome! My Aunt Angie is also a great cook and her desserts are always awesome!
