ATP! Presents: Brittany Has An Appetite (May 30th, 2012)
Anyone who follows drummer Brittany Harrell (@brittanyharrell) of Georgia's pop-punk outfit, Veara on Twitter would know that her account is comprised of talk about WWE, music and things 99% food related. With that said, we invited Brittany to be a part of the Alter The Press team where each week, she will be writing a weekly blog talking about the best meals she has consumed and letting the world know about her love of food!
This past Monday was Memorial Day where we remember those who have served/serve our great country the Untied States of America. I'm not sure how BBQ has become a "meal" to eat on this day but I'm sure glad that it has!
I love anything and everything that has to do with BBQ so with it being Memorial Day I had to get my BBQ fix.
I hit up Shane's Rib Shack for their signature sandwich, "The Big Dad".
Shane's Rib Shack is a great place to chow down on BBQ ribs, pork, chicken, etc. I've had just about everything on the menu and it's all awesome.
Shane's was so busy that they actually were out of ribs by the time I made it there at around 6pm. (the ribs are fall-off-the-bone amazing. Try some of you get the chance!) Good thing I had already made up my mind on gettin' the Big Dad Sandwich!
The Big Dad sandwich is Shane's signature chopped pork slow smoked, hand chopped, and slathered in secret BBQ sauce. They pile it high In between two pieces of thick Texas toast. And when I say "piled high", I mean PILED HIGH! There's so much savory juicy pork in this sandwich that you probably could make two sandwiches out of the amount they give you for one...but who would do that!? The more the better I say! Shane's also has a few different BBQ sauces that you can choose from out on the counter in the dining area. They have their original sauce, mustard, hot, spicy, and vinegar all to choose from. My favorites are the original, mustard, and hot. This sandwich ruled!
For my side item I chose their Sweet Potato fries. Their sweet potato fries are awesome as well. They're very crispy and very tasty. I like to dip mine in the BBQ sauces and ketchup. Very good!
In a previous blog I wrote about how great their Peach Cobbler was. So of course I had to get some for dessert!
The peach cobbler was amazing just like it always is. Mine had a good bit of "crust" under the peaches that you see in the picture (that's my favorite part!) so I was stoked!
Shane's Rib Shack always hits a home run for me and is one of my favorite places to eat here in my town. If you happen to ever pass by a Shane's Rib Shack (it's a chain restaurant) make sure to stop in and eat! You'll turn into a Shane's fan just like me, no doubt!
