With that said, we invited Brittany to be a part of the Alter The Press team where each week, she will be writing a weekly blog talking about the best meals she has consumed and letting the world know about her love of food!
It's no secret that I absolutely love the restaurant "Cracker Barrel". In fact, I did a blog a couple weeks ago on one of their daily dinner specials.
If you remember from that blog, I said that Cracker Barrel also offers breakfast all day. Well I am very excited to do a blog about just that!!
I ordered the "Smokehouse Breakfast" for my meal. I actually went to Cracker Barrel twice, back to back. Friday night and Saturday morning. I ordered this breakfast both times because it was so good!
Let's first start off with their coffee. I love coffee and Cracker Barrel's coffee is delicious! Of course I made sure to have plenty of unlimited cups of it throughout my meal.
Next up is the breakfast. As I said earlier, I ordered their "Smokehouse Breakfast". This comes with 2 eggs any way, grits, biscuits and gravy, and your choice of either thick cut bacon, sausage, or turkey sausage.
I went with my eggs scrambled with extra cheese, my grits with extra cheese, and the thick-cut bacon!
Normally I always have my biscuits before my meal but I had a great idea in mind. I wanted to use the biscuits and the breakfast that I ordered to make a breakfast biscuit sandwich!
I cut open the biscuit and spread strawberry jelly on the bottom part of the biscuit. Then I put a piece of the scrambled egg w/ cheese on that. Next I broke off a piece of the bacon put that on there and then topped all of that with the gravy.
Oh my gosh was this AMAZING!! In fact, that's why I ordered it two days in a row, haha. The biscuits there are so unbelievably good. I think I may be addicted. The egg scrambled with cheese was awesome and very cheesy (I love cheese!) and the bacon was out of bounds! Thick-cut bacon is the jam always, haha. The gravy is very tasty and addictive as well. I noticed myself dunking the left over pieces of bacon into the gravy that didn't make it onto my biscuit!
If you get a chance, definitely give Cracker Barrel's breakfast menu a try. And If I may suggest, Make a breakfast sandwich out of what you order on their delicious home-made biscuits :)
