December 7th, 2011 (Old McDonald's Fish Camp - North Augusta, SC)

When you think of seafood, I'm sure that Augusta, GA does not come to mind. Well thats all about to change!

This past Friday I went to Old McDonald's Fish Camp in North Augusta, SC (just over the Georgia border). They're only open Thursday-Saturday and this place is always packed!

When you arrive at Old McDonald's that first thing you need to do is check out the scenery! They have ducks and goats all around the building.

A pond surrounds the place where you'll find ducks chillin' out. They're hanging around because for a nickel you can purchase some food to feed the ducks!

Now onto the best part about Old McDonald's... The food of course!

Before my meal came out I hit up the unlimited hush puppy and grits bar (this comes with every meal).

These grits and hush puppies are awesome! Make sure to order a side of cheese to really make the grits off the chain. I also add a little bit of Texas Pete hot sauce for some kick.

Now onto my main course. There's tons of seafood to choose from on the menu. I was feeling some fried fish so I went with the seafood combo and ordered the fried Perch filet, devil crabs, and fries. The Perch had an excellent breading on it and the devil crabs were perfection! I'm not exactly sure what ingredients were inside the devil crab but it tasted so awesome. I literally scraped the inside of them! The fries were good and crispy and an excellent accent to the meal.

Old McDonald's Fish Camp does seafood right. I loved every part of my meal there, especially the unlimited hush puppies and grits bar!
