November 30th, 2011 (Thanksgiving Special)

It's that time of the year again! Time for family and friends to get together and most importantly...Time to eat!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love all the good food that my family makes for the occasion. We always have some appetizers to munch on then the main course (consisting of turkey, dressing, potatoes, and much more) and dessert.

Here is what I ate!

Let's start off with the apps. We had Veggie dip and a Bleu Cheese ball to start things off served with Wheat Thins to dip!

Next up is the best part about Thanksgiving... The fried turkey! We rub our turkey down in a Cajun rub and then inject it with creole butter marinade. We don't fry it in oil. We cook ours in a cooker called the "Big Easy". It cooks by using infrared and it gives the turkey the same affect as if you have fried it in oil. Its the jam!

Now for the sides. First I'd like to talk about my favorite side which is the dressing! Golly it's so so so good! My mom uses my great grandmother's recipe and it always turns out amazing!

We also had mash potatoes with gravy, macaroni and cheese (my mom makes this casserole style), green beans, cranberries, and dinner roles. All this is homemade. It's so delicious!!

For dessert we had my great aunt Fran's chocolate wet cake and my aunt Angie's banana pudding. Both were great but I especially liked the banana pudding.

That's my Thanksgiving feast! I really enjoyed all the food. You can't beat home cooking!
