Album Review: Diamond - Don't Lose Your Cool EP

Baltimore-Chicago band Diamond are the newest break out band on the scene. 'Don’t Lose Your Cool' is the band’s second EP and while they might not be everyone’s cup of tea take stock of the fact that they are thinking outside of the box and bringing something different to the table.

Alt-rock by definition but with soothing harmonies and foot-tapping tunes 'Don’t Lose Your Cool' is catchy and a good introduction to Diamond.

Opening track, 'Sunburn' busts out some nice breakdowns combined with some great melodies while title-track, 'Don’t Lose Your Cool', is a curve ball of an a capella track - short, sweet and soothing and reminiscent of a barbershop quartet. 'Keep Dreamin’' is the highlight of the 7-track EP with its riffage and pitch perfect harmonies.

Check out the band live over the holiday period supporting Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, Transit and Balance & Composure. Considering Diamond are giving away this EP for free at the moment there’s no excuse not to give it a go and be pleasantly surprised.
