Album Review: Save Your Breath - Vices
Having toured with a bunch of bands such as Fireworks and Funeral For A Friend, Save Your Breath are ready to carve out a market for themselves and Vices does that perfectly. The influence of bands such as The Movielife welcomely flow through this record and the band wouldn’t look out of place on an early Drive Thru Records roster with songs such as 'Don’t Let Me Down' and closing track 'Transit'.
'Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy' kick starts the record with a tale of determination and ambition which continues throughout on tracks like 'You’re A Rebel Alright'. Whilst Save Your Breath might not break the mold or redefine the genre, 'Vices' is sure to brighten up any dreary British summers’ day having honed the art of sounding familiar but not a carbon copy.
'Vices' sits perfectly next to the bands who are already breathing new life into the pop-punk genre like The Wonder Years, Hit The Lights and Man Overboard. All in all the Welsh quintet have masterfully created a bone-fide pop punk record that they can be proud of, concreting themselves into the regenerated genre.
