ATP! Label Profile: Count Your Lucky Stars Records
Count Your Lucky Stars Records is a prime example of a DIY label, Keith and Cathy from Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) formed CYLS after they couldn't find anyone else to release their 'Year of the Rabbit' 7". Nevertheless since 2007, the pair have built the label from the ground up with it with numerous releases from underground indie and emo bands and artists. The labels catalog includes Moving Mountains, Snowing, CSTVT, Into It. Over It and Football, etc.Interview with Keith Latinen.

Why did you form Count Your Lucky Stars?
Cathy and I both play in Empire! Empire!, and we figured no one would want to put out anything by us, so we figured we might as well do it ourselves, haha. Then we figured we might as well help out our friends as well, and it has just grown since then.
How did you come up with the name Count Your Lucky Stars?
It comes from the concept of making every moment count. Life is so short, and we are fortunate enough to be able to spend it do something we love doing. We feel lucky every day we get to keep doing this.
Why should people take an interest in Count Your Lucky Stars?
We are a very hard working label with a lot of hard working bands. We love what we do, and I think it shows. I think what we are doing is honest and important, and solely for the love of music.
What are your future plans for Count Your Lucky Stars?
Just to keep releasing records as long as we can by artists who should be heard.
