Alter The Press! Presents: Goodbye Coastline

Hailing from Chicago, Goodbye Coastline are one of the latest, bright pop-rock groups to emerge from the city. Having played shows alongside the likes of Mayday Parade, Rocky Loves Emily, The Bigger Lights, The Graduate, You Me And Everyone We Know and more, the quintet have produced a glowing reputation in their hometown. In addition the band played one date on last years Warped Tour and achieved a good finishing position in last years Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands contest, finishing twelfth.

Their latest EP, 'Listen Responsibly' saw the band work with Jordan Schmidt (Quietdrive, Sing It Loud, Motion City Soundtrack) and sees the band creating a collection of feel good pop-rock numbers that lives up to their compatriots; Mayday Parade, All Time Low and Sing It Loud. For example 'Mister Disaster' is a quick three minute blast of perfect pop-rock that is straight to the point and leaves you smiling. With such a positive outlook, expect to hear more from Goodbye Coastline.

For Fans Of: All Time Low, Mayday Parade, New Found Glory, and Sing It Loud.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Goodbye Coastline: Because we like to party... and if you like to party too we're a match made in heaven.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
Goodbye Coastline: Back in 2009 Eddie and I (Jerry) began writing and demoing songs together. We reached out to producer Jordan Schmidt who produced for and has worked with bands such as Quietdrive, Sing It Loud, Motion City Soundtrack, All Time Low just to name a few. After hearing the demos, Jordan invited us up for a two week session to record and produce the "Listen Responsibly" EP, at that time we didn't even have a band name. After recording the EP we asked some of our friends to join the band, settled on a band name and started rehearsing and getting ready to play live. Since then we have had quite the impact on the local Chicago music scene, by building an ever growing fan base and supporting great touring acts at some of Chicago's best venues.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
Goodbye Coastline: Launching our MySpace/Facebook and releasing 'Mr. Disaster' as a single on iTunes last year were highlights. As was being chosen to play the Chicago Warped Tour date last year too. We even Ranked 12th place out of over 17,000+ bands in the 2010 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands. Not bad for being a 4 month old band.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
Goodbye Coastline: We have a music video in the works for our song, 'Shiver', which is on our EP 'Listen Responsibly'. The EP is available through all online music retailers. We'll be going on our first tours this summer/fall focusing on the East and Southeast Coast. We will also be writing and demoing as much as possible while on the road.

'Listen Responsibly' by Goodbye Coastline is available now through iTunes.

Goodbye Coastline on Facebook, Twitter, Purevolume and MySpace.
