Cease.Fire.Riot: Because we feel we bring something new and interesting forward. After all of us playing for years, we finally feel we have come together and created the sound we've always wanted. Heavy guitar, with real melodies. We want to create an enthralling live show whilst keeping the music loud and accessible. We play any show and are just up for smashing any gig opportunity thrown at us. With delicately arranged set lists, we can bring a crowd up and down before going crazy at the end! Our priotity is beautiful music that we love. We've all seen and been in bands that say "what would sell best?" We have grown tired of that and now we strive to make the music we want. It is an amazing bi-product that people love it, but we had to start this project for us!
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
Cease.Fire.Riot: Cease.Fire.Riot. got together after various bands came to an end. We all wanted to create something that could come across on both a CD and at a live show. Too many bands feel watered down when they hit the stage! With a shared interest in the likes of Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and Thrice, it was easy to mould our sound. We aim for "controlled noise." Crushing guitar parts with great steady, hard hitting pace from the drums. Real melodies and thought provoking lyrics on top. Somewhere between grunge, Post-Hardcore, Rock and a sprinkle of radio friendly arena Rock is where Cease.Fire.Riot sit.
Cease.Fire.Riot: Well, after being in bands for years its phenomenal to see the online interest we are getting. Simple things like being contacted for video shoots and radio play and all the natural steps an up and coming band seems to search for. They are landing on our doorstep and we by no means that that for granted! It's awesome! Recording with Shaun Lowe at Prism Studios Stoke on Trent was definitely a major highlight too! And then there's the shows..
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
Cease.Fire.Riot: The next twelve months will see us record our first full-length EP. (We are currently distributing our small, free EP via Soundcloud.) We will once again head to Prism Studios in Stoke on Trent to lay down our second CD. Then, we will hit the road and tour the hell out of it, promoting it as we go! With gigs being confirmed as we speak, and plans to record a second video with our now close friend, Dave Carter, the next 12 months are set to be awesome!
