Alter The Press! Presents: Every Effort Made
With comparisons to bands like Tigers Jaw already been thrown about, Every Effort Made's stature and confidence is bound to grow in the coming months, with new material and more shows in the works.
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Every Effort Made: Well... You know that bit in "Gleaming The Cube" when Christian Slater Ollie's of a bridge to knock the gun out of the bad dudes hand? Well thats awesome. Irrelevant, but awesome all the same. People should check us out because we're really nice friendly, realistic people who make really sweet music and rad melodies. We love 80's montages, slow build up applauses and the bit in the middle of walnut whips.
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
: Well Me (Bobby Pook), Oli and Spin met when we played in a band called Hit By An Apple when we were like 17. Me and Spin then started a grindcore band called When People Become Numbers and Oli started Me vs Hero. I later Joined Me vs Hero and Oli left earlier this year. Laura has been playing the circuit with her old band, Pink Herse and solo acoustically for a few years and was doing really well.
Me, Spin, Oli and Sheldon have always loved jamming together on and off for years and when we hooked up with Laura it just felt right. Every Effort Made was born.
ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
EEM: We've only been a band for about 2 months. Its really exciting. The feedback we have been getting is insane. We're so stoked and inspired at the moment its crazy. Our Demo EP; 'Who Would Make Up Stories As Horrible As This' is out on iTunes/Spotify 18.04.11, and there is a pre-release up on Bandcamp now!
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
EEM: We have a music video coming up, more songs, more shows/tours, Just loads of awesome shit basically. We're looking at doing a full length album at the end of the summer, so we're writing for that now and the songs are sounding great.
'Who Would Make Up Stories As Horrible As This' by Every Effort Made is released through iTunes/Spotify on April 18th.
