Alter The Press! Presents: Ivyrise
Since then the band have been working with producer Jason Perry (Kids in Glass Houses and McFly) in Texas and perfecting their ambitious, slick alt-rock sound. With an album in the pipeline and a UK tour, the confident quartet are destined to get their name heard.
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Ivyrise: If you like big, epic, anthemic tunes then you should check us out. We absolutely love what we do and get such a buzz from playing our songs to people. We have enough drive between us to power Jeremy Clarksons campervan. If he has one. He probably doesn't. If that doesn't sway you, then hopefully the fact we managed to raise £100,000 from fans in just 4 days through innovative new label 'My Major Company,' hopefully will. Why not dig a little deeper and find out why the fans have put their money where their mouth is!
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
Ivyrise: The four of us have been together for over a year now and it's amazing how quickly we've become really close, both musically and as mates. There were a few different band members in the early days, but since us four have been together it has been a great ride and we're sure this is the perfect formula for Ivyrise!
ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
Ivyrise: Without doubt spending two weeks in Texas recording our debut album with Jason Perry. Although we've had some great highlights like selling out Islington Academy on our headline tours. the magic of finally putting the songs together halfway around the world can't be beaten. It was a magical time for us, we managed to have some fun among the recording process too, including shooting some guns (which was pretty crazy) and we believe it made us even tighter as a band spending all that time together away from home. We just hope you love listening to the album once it's released as much as we loved making it.
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
Ivyrise: We are just about to release our debut single 'Line Up The Stars' on MMC which comes out on the 28th of March and we have a show upstairs at the Garage to celebrate that on March 16th! These are pretty exciting times for us as having just returned from Texas, we’re now in another cool studio in London working on the final mixes with Jason P for the album. Another single is also in the pipeline and the album will be out at in the Summer too. We’re also planning another headline tour of the UK, probably late in the year, and plenty more things that we can't tell you about just yet! Hopefully 2011 will be the year that everyone hears a bit of Ivyrise.
'Line Up The Stars' by Ivyrise is release on March 28th through My Major Company.
