Alter The Press! Presents: Better Left Alone
Influenced by US pop-punk bands, most notably All Time Low and Fall Out Boy, Better Left Alone worked with John Mitchell (The Blackout) on the EP which resulted in the band producing a collection of feel-good, energetic songs that suit the bands style well. With such favorable tracks like 'We Will Never Know', Better Left Alone are set for bigger things.
For Fans Of: All Time Low, Mayday Parade and Fall Out Boy.
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Better Left Alone: We’re Better Left Alone, hailing from Preston, Lancashire and you should check us because we make the kind of music that will make you orgasm or shit your pants, it could really go either way. We have been together in this current line up for around 14/15 months now and in that time have played a lot of show all over the UK as well as recording our debut EP with John Mitchell at The Outhouse Studios in Reading.
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
BLA: The band is made up of Eddy Robinson on Vocals, Nick Else on Guitars/Vocals, Dann Walling on Guitars/Vocals, Josh Harrison on Bass and Mik Connor on drums.
The original members of the band are Eddy, Nick and Mik who came together in 2007 thru a combination of knowing each other from college and meeting on a musician’s forum. We had a bit of bad luck with having members in the band that were either not dedicated or didn’t gel together with us, so it’s been a major hurdle trying to get the core of the band right. We added Dann in 2008 and Josh in 2009 and have not looked back since, pushing forward in with our perfect style of music, that being Pop-Punk.
BLA: We all had the most amazing week away back in August 2010 recording with John Mitchell at The Outhouse Studio. John has worked with loads of amazing bands from The Blackout to You Me at Six. We basically lived out of a Travelodge and put our blood and sweat in to our new self titled EP which is coming out on March 21st via iTunes, Play.com, Amazon.co.uk, Spotify and all other good online music retailers… and some rubbish ones too.
One of our songs called “We Will Never Know” also made it in to BBC Introducing Lancashire’s best songs of 2010, which was awesome.
We also just released a music video on YouTube for our single on the EP called “We Will Never Know” so go check it out and see what you think to the music!
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
BLA: Well we are planning to release our EP, go out on tour in the UK to promote that EP, play as many shows as possible and hopefully record again towards the end of the year. We have Facebook, Twitter and our website so you can keep in touch with us and listen to our music. If we can just keep playing more and more shows and make a few new friends along the way, then we are doing a good job.
