Alter The Press! Presents: Thousand Autumns

Hailing from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, Thousand Autumns only formed last year but over the past 12 months they've received nationwide radio airplay, as well as plays shows with Ispystrangers, Never Means Maybe, The Elijah, and Broadway.

Though their influences range from The Pixies to Thrice to The Smiths, their debut EP ('City of Sun') is hard-hitting, fast blast of alt-rock that draws comparisons to Alexisonfire and early Funeral For A Friend. Tracks like 'I Chose Not To Remember' are tight and contain the right balance between scream and melodic vocals.

Thousand Autumns: We have a fresh, new sound that puts a contemporary twist on the classic bands we all love! If you’re the kind of person that loves heavy riffs and breakdowns, but also likes infectious melodies that you can't get out your head...... then look us up!

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
TA: The 5 of us have been loosely inter-twined for most of our lives, friends of friends and all that. We’ve also had been in bands before that we hadn’t settled into. After a few initial line-ups of "Thousand Autumns" all us guys just came together and found a sound that we all really liked. After a lot of development this turned into something we all love writing and playing, so we stuck with it and here we are.


ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
TA: It's difficult to pick just one time. When you spend so much time with a bunch of guys who really gets on with each other, highlights seem to happen almost on a daily basis! But if we had to pick a time, we’d say in the studio recording our first EP. Spending every day tracking and coming up with new ideas, and just watching our hard work come to life.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
TA: Relentless touring and playing shows, writing for our next release, shooting music videos and generally just getting our name out there.
