Alter The Press! Presents: Hill Valley High

Having shared the stage with the likes of Madina Lake, We Are The Ocean and more oddly BRIT Award winner Tinie Tempah, Hill Valley High's CV makes for interesting reading, even more so by the fact that the pop-rock group have toured Brazil.

Nonehtheless in their 5 years together, the Telford-based group have developed a favorable sound that will please fans of bands such as You Me At Six and All Time Low. It is a sound that has a near-perfect balance between pop and rock; steady feel-good tunes with plenty of catchy hooks.

Following from a good 2010 which saw the band release a t-shirt with Atticus Clothing, 2011 sees the ambitious band moving forward, as they will be recording with Hundred Reasons' Larry Hibbert and filming a new video shortly.

For Fans Of: You Me At Six, All Time Low and Mcfly.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Hill Valley High: We bring a fresh sound to the Pop Alternative market, when writing we aim to find the balance between pop and rock attracting the younger fans who are still holding on to their love of Busted and Mcfly and also appealing to the older fans of Deaf Havana, Blink 182 and You Me At Six. We play with passion and energy which is guarenteed to get the crowd going every time.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
HVH: It started off with Olly and Phil jamming in Phil's nans house with an acoustic guitar and dictaphone writing songs that you'd be likely to hear on Hannah Montanas latest film. 2 years on there are now 6 of us, over the past 2 years we have gained endorsements from Atticus Clothing and Low Life and are now managed by ex-Pop cult 90s band Jesus Jones members Tony Arthy and Jerry Deborg.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
HVH: In 2009 we were lucky enough to headline a 9 date tour across Brazil playing sold out shows to large crowds of screaming girls. It was definitely a taste of fame for us all and gave us the drive and determination to move on to bigger things once back in the UK.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
HVH: Over the next 12 months we are planning to continue playing more and more shows, getting the HvH name known. We are planning to shoot a music video over the next few months as well as getting back in the studio with Larry Hibbert (Hundred Reasons) to record and write more tunes with the aim of releasing our debut EP in late 2011. We are also currently 3rd in the Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition, winning this will mean a busy summer for us playing at Download, Sonisphere, T in the Park and other festivals. We are also currently busy planning our return to South America for another tour.
