Alter The Press! Presents: Chances Are High
With an approachable pop-punk sound, CAH take all the typical traits of the genre and make the best use out of them; fast, upbeat and distinctive hooks. Whereas 'I Won't Wait' shows the band mature, sweeter side being shown, one that is endearing and gives them a hint of variation.
The coming months could prove to be exciting for the band, as they have hopes of expanding beyond their homestate and have a new EP in the works.
For Fans Of: The Swellers, New Found Glory, and Blink 182
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Chances Are High: Alter The Press! readers should check us out because we write music not only for our selves but for everyone who decides to listen. We work incredibly hard to constantly improve our writing and live performance. We also stay in contact as much as possible with everyone who supports us, unlike many bands who seem to forget about the most important people ( the listeners). Whether there are 3 people or 300 people at a show we will always give the crowd 110% of our energy.
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
CAH: Chances Are High started in mid 2007 while we are all in high school. When we had first started to write music, we had no intentions of taking the band this far. We were simply writing pop/punk tunes for the fun of it. As time went on, we started playing more and more shows around Pittsburgh until it became a regular thing. The four of us (Brian,Eli, Luke and Cam), have became best friends in our time of playing together and we have no intentions on quitting any time soon. Throughout our time as a band we have recorded and released two EP's and have written countless songs. It is a fact that we want to continue what we have and make it into our career. Chances Are High has become more than a band to us, it has become a lifestyle that we are not willing to give up by any means. We write and play music for the love of it, the passion, and the friends that we make on the way.
ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
CAH: Playing the Pittsburgh Vans Warped Tour in 2008 and 2010.
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
CAH: We plan to play more out-of-state shows than we ever have in the next 12 months. At the same time we plan to keep writing and improving our sound. We should be in the studio working on our new EP within the next few months as well. We are going to take our band to the next level, we are going to work harder than ever before to make our dream a reality.
