Alter The Press! Presents: NG26
With mighty, heavy riff after riff mixed with pummelling drums, NG26 have been compared to bands such as Alter Bridge and Shinedown; as their sound sees a .well-balanced mix of melodies and anthemic choruses with a crunching metal tone
For Fans Of: Alter Bridge, Stone Sour and Shinedown.
Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
NG26: The readers should check us out for one simple reason, we don’t sound like any other British Rock band out there! We have developed our own distinctive style and sound, breaking away from many of the current trends and fashion, putting a classic twist to modern metal.
We have created a style incorporating heavy, riff orientated soundtracks, fused with a melodic vocal. Aggressive sounding songs, but with a story or message to tell.
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
NG26: It all began in a galaxy far, far away……not quite!!!! Two sets of brothers that had been in bands since school days, gigging from early teens. In 2006 NG26 came to be and we recorded a demo album, which received some good press. After this the band took a break for a couple of years, still doing gigs but not writing.
2009 saw the beginnings of “Open Your Mind”, which was to become our first commercial release as a signed band. The album being produced by Steve Fenton of Calder Recordings, and Mark Mynett (Ex Kill2This Guitarist).
Lead single “One More Road From Home” proceeded the launch of the album, and the promo video for the song premiered on Lava TV December 2010.
NG26: There are several moments in recent months for the band, but seeing our video on TV, and being voted for by the public, has to be the biggest thing so far.
ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
NG26: We want to tour the album extensively, and we also have our second video to accompany the brand new single “Bring Back The Day”. We also have demo recording sessions booked for our next album.
'Open Your Mind' by NG26 is available now on Holier Than Thou Records.
A new single, 'Bring Back The Day' is released on February 14th.
