Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press readers check you out?
Hero In Error: Alter The Press readers should check us out 'cos our vocalist is really attractive, he cooks a mean pesto pasta... Oh, also, we're not too shit (we think).
ATP: What's the story behind the band?
HIE: The band was started by Confey and Gary in late '07 following the disbanding of other projects. We were hugely influenced by the likes of SikTh, Johnny Truant and Architects. The Dublin scene was at the time devoid of bands similar to those above. We wanted to merge these influences together and write songs that we wanted to listen to. We're also useless, near unemployable fucks with nothing better to do.
ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
HIE: Supporting Mastodon in our home town in December '08 was a definite highlight for the band, it taught us a lot about delivering a live performance and putting on a show, as opposed to just getting on a stage and playing our songs. It was an amazing experience for us while the band was still in it's infancy. Also on our recent Irish tour, one show stuck out in Cork. Hearing people scream our lyrics back to us and the general reaction is something we could definitly get used to! The rest of the shows were also amazing but that one in particular!
ATP: What are your plans for the next 12 months?
HIE: We want to play as many shows in as many new cities as we possibly can! Get on the festival circuit in the Summer (Download would be nice) ;) write, write, write and generally better ourselves as a band. Then back into the studio to record a full length! Then back out on the road to hopefully play to more people.
