Hit The Lights Update
The band said:
"So I’m sitting here in Hatsboro, PA with my friends Omar and Kenny, working on some sikk songz. I, and the band HTL, have collectively been in and out of contact with the rest of the world for some time now. It’s been wonderful and, aside from a few overseas shows and some college shows (which if you were there that shit was funnnn, right?) we have been a no-show on the show circuit indeed. There is a reason, and a great one at that. A little over a month ago we sealed our fate, found a new label and are working non-stop on writing the new HTL record. While we will announce all of the details soon, I will have you know that this has already been the most prepared for a record we’ve ever been and we haven’t even gotten started. Hit The Lights is entering a new ball game and the way we’re going to deal with that is that we have to pick it up. This new record is going to mean the future of HTL. We’ve heard from all sides of the spectrum. From: we shouldn’t change, to: we should go back to our “old” sound and: that we need to do something completely different. I think it’s right on all counts. In these past months we’ve explored more of the skip school style, more of the stick-up style and have been pushing ourselves into territories we haven’t been before. Why am I writing this? Because I’m rarely serious but I think that this is something serious that should be brought up and discussed with the fans. This record will be different from the others, and it needs to be. We need a record that can be loved by our fans and pull in new fans as well. This record needs to push us harder as a band and it needs to MEAN something. I don’t think we’ve found that meaning yet, but every day we write I think we’re getting closer to the element that this new record needs. I’m excited, nervous, and ready for whatever comes our way. Thanks to everyone who stays aware, pays attention and always backs us up. This record will be your reward."
