Of Mice And Men Frontman To Miss US Tour

Of Mice and Men frontman Austin Carlile will miss the bands forthcoming US tour, and will be replaced by Jerry Roush (former lead singer of Sky Eats Airplane),

Statement from Austin:

"As most of you may know, I have a genetic heart disorder that has made me have an enlarged aorta valve. While on our break after New Years from tour, my cardiologist in Ohio called me and told me that I needed to get to a hospital and get tests re-done immediately. They also called in some rad heart meds that 70 year olds take for me to start on. Haha! The next day I went in for an EKG, MRI, and CATSCAN to find out that the surgery I was aware I would need in a few years, was now needed within the next 8 months instead. The doctor also told me that I wasn’t allowed to tour until the surgery happened. They’ll be cutting me right down the middle, FUN! SO, I had to break the news to the band/management and let them know I was getting this set up as soon as possible. I will be getting everything done within the next couple of months, and WILL be recovered in time to play Warped Tour! On the note of ME not being able to do the Alesana/Skylit Drive tour, the BAND still will be! A good friend, Jerry Roush (former lead singer of Sky Eats Airplane), will be FILLING IN for me! He has stepped up to the plate and I’m so stoked he was down to be such a help in this rough time. For me and my health, and also for the band. I expect everyone to be at all the OM&M shows this tour and show their support! I will be back on track in no time! Also remember, our DEBUT ALBUM comes out March 9th! Be sure to buy it in stores or online, and tell all your friends about us too! I’m really sorry I’m not going to be on this tour, but I’m sure you can all understand. I’m doing what I can, with what I have right now."
