Red Bull Bedroom Jam, the weekly live music webcast for young, emerging bands will return on 15th February 2010. The new, revamped season will offer young bands throughout the UK, who upload their videos, the opportunity to perform on the live webcast as well as tour the hottest festivals and spend time in the studio. All through this season, a judging panel including Fightstar lead singer Charlie Simpson and key members of the music industry will be keeping an eye on the chosen bands’ progress.

This three part journey presents an unparalleled opportunity for young musicians. The festivals confirmed for this summer’s chosen few include Underage, Download and T in the Park but they need to impress the panel of judges, which this year will not only include Charlie Simpson but also Andy Copping, Vice President of Live Nation, and Beckie Sugden from The Agency. Recording sessions at Red Bull’s brand new HQ are also on the table plus a UK wide tour in support of a major act…and entering couldn’t be easier.

Each week a band will be chosen by a new Buzz Radar system, taking into account the level of interest on the Bedroom Jam site as well as other social media buzz such as Myspace and Twitter. As with last year, when the likes of Frank Turner, Alexisonfire and Twin Atlantic were guests, Bedroom Jam will continue to feature some of the biggest names in alternative music each week.

A total of sixteen bands will play across as many weeks, seven of them will be chosen by our panel of industry judges, and 1 from the popular vote of the Bedroom Jam viewers, to perform at festival stages throughout the summer. Of those festival bands, three will be chosen by our panel of industry judges as the best Bedroom Jam bands of the year.

The final three then go up for another viewers’ vote, the winner of which will secure a two week recording session at Red Bull’s brand new, state of the art studio in London with a top producer as well as a UK wide tour.

Charlie Simpson from epic post-hardcore band Fightstar explained:

"I wish when I started out there was something like Red Bull Bedroom Jam! It’s a no brainer for young talent to get involved with - what a great opportunity. I am looking forward to checking out some talented new bands, supporting them on their journey and giving them advice"

Andy, who books the Download festival said:
‘I’m really excited to be involved in the new Bedroom Jam. We’ve been working with Red Bull on this project for the last few years and we feel that it is an important outlet for young bands to be spotted. So many bands have been brought to our attention through Bedroom Jam and we look forward to spotting a few more this year.

Dance-punkers, My Passion, who performed on Bedroom Jam last season added:

The last year of this band’s life has been amazing and that is in no small part to the exposure we got by doing Red Bull Bedroom Jam. It’s obvious the people behind it love the music and it proved to be a great experience and opportunity for us and quite a few of the bands we know’.

The online platform for bands and artists continues to be one of the most exciting for young bands looking for a foot on the ladder. Bands can upload their videos to the site and each week, users vote for their favourite video. The most popular video gets the Bedroom Jam treatment, with a performance live-streamed directly from their homes at 5pm, for the weekly live show.
