Spinal Tap to play Wembley Arena

Spinal Tap are set to play one night at London's Wembley Arena as part of the 25th anniversary of 'This Is Spinal Tap' cult movie.

Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer will play the 12,500-capacity venue on June 30 in what is billed as a 'one-night only world tour'.

Speaking in character as David St. Hubbins, McKean said: ‘This show will be dedicated to all of our drummers who have passed on, either to their reward or to middle management at Sainbury's.’

Support is to come from 'The Folksmen', the fictional folk band featured in Guest’s 2003 mockumentary A Mighty Wind.

Tickets go on sale Thursday morning.
