My Hero Is Me Break Up

Metalcore band My Hero Is Me have announced they are splitting up.

The band posted a myspace blog, which can be read below.

"hey guys
before i get to this. i want to let you all know this is by far the hardest thing ive had to write out of all the lyrics to songs that pertained to some pretty rough times in my life.

as of march 09, my hero is me is no more. this band has struggled with success and how much of it we were going to get for quite some time. signing to tragic hero records almost 3 years ago and being apart of the 1st generation bands signed to the label, made us believe that there was something about us in which not only WE felt was special and going somewhere. feeling like we were apart of a family that cared and wanted us to get to where we felt we could be was a blessing. sadly, this blessing started to become a nightmare through all of our rough times.

this band has gone through a lot of lineup changes as well as style changes. with the latest lineup, we felt we finally fell into our nitch and all of us enjoyed writing together and playing together on stage. we also all got a long the best. with almost 5 years as being in a band and myself being the only original member, on the back burner i was always worried that this day was going to come. dont get me wrong.. we got to have our cds and shirts sold across the country at shows, online, in stores.. hell, kids in other countries know who we were.. the thought of my ass here in NC chillin drinking a brew and some kid in japan rocking our shit and wearing our shirts brings tears to my eyes. we are very greatful to that fact. sadly we werent able to travel and see everyone and every state or country we wanted to see.. but getting to tour and meet the people and bands we have.. was so amazing.

this past tour was the end all to not only shitty tours, but to this band as well. we did everything we could as a band to get our name and music out to people. our job really is to show up, hug and talk to you guys, rock some fucking metal, and then hang out and party and chill and sell merch.. and do it all over again.. night after night.. hows it feel when u dont see much else from other compoents that are susposed to have as much faith in you and your success as you do? pretty devestating. what really sucked was this past tour.. every band.. every band.. was amazing and the best dudes ever.. and no one knew when we were playing.. no one.. we would get messages 3 days later saying oh wow.. you guys were in dallas?? shit if we knew.. we would have brought like 50 kids with us.. we love you guys here!! this after we play a show for basically all the touring bands, maybe a local, and the promoter if he hasnt dipped out yet..without paying us.

and that became routine basically on this last tour. its sad when you are in CA and you are misrable. have we not done our share? have we not put in enough credits to get something bigger? have we not slept in our van in walmart parking lots enough? idk.. some of you may say no, but i know we def say yes.we did everything we could do to get this band where we believed we could be and now more than ever, we saw it just wasnt going to be in our cards.

some of us have other projects which will be followed up on.. some of us just want to grow up and see what life has for them next.. and some of us just have no clue what the hell to do. that is where we are at the moment.

to our past members. in no order.. chris.charlie.sam.johnrob.jay.ben.hamilton.kevin.jameson. and for filling in for us, mike and brandon. through all the bullshit.. for the times we did have together.. long live that shit.

to anyone who has stuck by us from the start.. to those who have just became fans.. to those who made it appoint to let everyone know how we sucked or how NUMETAL we were...all of you.. helped in getting our name out in one way or the other so thank you.. from the bottom of my heart.. our hearts.. for giving a shit.

OUR LAST OFFICIAL SHOW IS MAY 9TH AT CLUB OASIS IN WINSTON-SALEM, NC. we will have other shows from now til then posted.. but that will be our last official show. PLEASE GUYS. PLEASE BE THERE FOR THIS NIGHT.. MORE DETAILS WILL COME ON IT SO STAY IN TOUCH AND KEEP HITTING THE PAGE.
