The title, according to vocalist Joel Madden, comes from the lyrical content of the album, which is 'all connected to the heart'.

Madden went to on explain that the band are heading back to their old pop punk roots and 20 songs have already been written.

'Cardiology' is due out in 2009 on Epic Records.
