Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Launches Club Night

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. otherwise known as Sam Duckworth is to launch his club night called 'Zombie' and it takes place tonight at the Electricity Showrooms in Shoreditch. The following Press statement was released:

"Hey

How's it going? Hopefully all is going well.

So I'm back from what can only be described as a crazy summer, thanks to all who came to see us at the festivals and left us with memories we will never forget. Thanks also to all who came to the threshers dj shows and came up and chatted, it was great to meet you all and thanks for the kind words!

I'm currently hauled up in the studio starting the 3rd album and am very excited, I have a few songs together and am desperate to capture the energy of the live show on record for the first time. More news to come soon....

There aren't many things to update you on, in regards to future activity, however I'd like to alert those of you who live in/near london about a new project I'm involved with:

The term world music grates a bit doesn't it? A term that is coined by dodgy latin remixes of indie songs, from the guy in the highstreet playing pan pipes and can be unfortunately used to marginalise some of the worlds greatest artists.

After recent visits to the Congo and Cape Town, i wanted to create a night that explored "beats and breaks from around the world" Embracing the contributions of the likes of Fela Kuti and Fania Records in the development of modern music. A night where these artists are showcased for their breaks, their grooves and ultimately their songs. A night where you can dance to African and Latin Music, rather than have to struggle to hear it as the soundtrack to an overpriced, over filled cocktail bar.

So "Zombie" was born and it starts this Tuesday at the Electricity Showrooms in Shoreditch. Doors are at 8pm and its only £3 before 9.

As a special to Get Cape friends, if you email: :zombie@getcapewearcapefly.co.uk with names, you will be put on the £2 guestlist.

Thankfully we have residents "Scribe" (Africa Exprez) and "One Happy World" (with an encyclopedic knowledge of music) to provide an excellent mix of music. A night to be filled with those "who was that track by" dj moments or maybe just a night to open yourself up to a bit of new music.

Thanks

Sam"
